  • Paid Parental Leave — 1 January 2011

    The Federal Government's Paid Parental Leave scheme starts on 1 January 2011 and becomes compulsory from 1 July 2011. Under this scheme, employers will be responsible for providing Parental Leave Pay to eligible employees who have, or adopt, a child on or after 1 July 2011 and who have worked in the business for 12 months or more. Documents containing more information on Paid Parental Leave are available from the Family Assistance Office and Centrelink websites.

    Attaché Consultants Summit at Uluru — 11 - 14 November 2010

    In November, the Attaché Consultant community gathered for our annual three-day Summit, this year held at Ayers Rock Resort, Uluru. Consultants heard from two excellent motivational speakers — Tom O’Toole, the baker from Beechworth, and Commonwealth Gold Medallist Brennan Dowrick — and discussed plans for 2011, with a particular focus on how they can assist users improve their businesses through better use of their Attaché accounting and payroll software. Consultants also heard about planned enhancements for Attaché Accounts All-In-One, including Attaché ClearView.

    New Attaché Accounts and Attaché Payroll release(2)

    Attaché Accounts and Attaché Payroll version 1.02 is now available. This release includes enhancements to assist you with the GST and PAYE changes in New Zealand on 1 October 2010, including the updated IRD GST return, pricing and transaction update utilities, and new Attaché Payroll tax scales. The release also includes many other features, which are described in the Attaché Accounts and Attaché Payroll version 1.02 Release Notes.

    GST and PAYE changes in New Zealand

    On 1 October 2010, the New Zealand GST rate will increase from 12.50 to 15.00% and new tax scales come into effect. Attaché Accounts and Attaché Payroll version 1.02, due for release in September, will include the updated IRD GST Return, utilities to assist you to manage the rate change and the new Attaché Payroll tax scales.

    Attaché ClearView upgrade now available

    A new version of Attaché ClearView is now available from the Attaché Members website.

    The Attaché ClearView suite includes ClearView dashboards, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Reports Designer. Secure and customisable, with centralised tasks and reminders and instant on-screen searches, ClearView provides a "top down" view of your operations, helping you to reduce debtors, stock and expenses, increase sales and manage employees.

    Australian tax scales 2010/11

    Attaché Payroll tax scales for the Australian 2010/11 financial year are now available free of charge for licensed Attaché users. Tax scales can be automatically downloaded from your Attaché system or you can download them manually from the Attaché Members website.

    Free EMA briefings for employers with operations in NZ

    In May the Employers and Manufacturers Association (Northern) of New Zealand, in conjunction with the Australian Industry Group, will be presenting update briefings on the New Zealand business environment. The seminars will address topics such as tax reform, wage and salary trends and employment law. Attendance is free for businesses using Attaché and all attendees will receive a free copy of Attaché’s Payroll Efficiency Guide which includes a specific section on New Zealand payroll.

Attaché ClearView version 1.00 is now available to download from the Attaché Members website. Attaché Software recommends that you contact your Attaché Consultant to install and set up ClearView for the first time.

    New Attaché Accounts and Attaché Payroll release

    Attaché Accounts and Attaché Payroll version 1.01 is now available to download from the Attaché Members website. Enhancements to Australian Payroll include multi-page payment summaries and electronic employee Tax File Number Declarations. For New Zealand Payroll, a new version of the EMS file is now available and Payroll Options has been updated due to a change in the ACC Earners Levy thresholds. You can read about the all the features in the Release Notes for this version.

    New Zealand tax scales 2010/11

    Attaché Payroll tax scales for the New Zealand 2010/11 financial year are now available for licensed users of Attaché Software to download from the Attaché Members website. New tax scales for Fiji payroll are also available to download.

    These tax scales are also included in the upcoming release of Attaché Payroll version 1.01, due in April. Look out for the email bulletin announcing this release or check the Attaché Members website.

    Update 2010 — free seminars for Accounts and Payroll
